Although the PlayStation VR system is being hailed as the definitive VR offering for this generation so far by reviewers and critics, based on all features combined, it’s still relatively new on the market. This means that players might not know which titles are worth trying out from the frankly limited library and thus need a little help. On that note, analysts are already tagging the PS4 Pro to outperform the PS4 VR in terms of sales for the coming holiday season.
For some of the best VR titles on Sony’s platform, Gizmodo put together a list of the most promising games that are already available or are coming soon to the PS4 VR. “VR Worlds” is at the top of the list, which is actually a collection of titles that include the crime simulation “London Heist” and “Danger Ball.” Those who purchase bundles of the PS4 VR will get this collection for free.
Other titles on the list include “Eve Valkyrie,” which is a sci-fi shooter set in space. Players who tried their hands at “Elite: Dangerous” will immediately find the gameplay of this VR title familiar since the main goal is to become as rich as possible.
Finally, there’s “Arkham VR,” which is all about finding clues while wearing the mantle of Batman. Gamers who like to play detective might want to give this VR title a shot. With the holidays coming up, knowing which games on the PS4 VR will likely be worth the money should help customers decide when it’s time to shop.
Speaking of holiday shopping, analysts have been saying from the get-go that releasing its VR platform so close to the release of the PS4 Pro is a big mistake on Sony’s part. For starters, many are betting that gamers who can only afford one of the two will likely choose the more powerful console, Forbes reports.
Aside from the limited number of games on the PS4 VR, it also suffers from outdated peripherals. Until the system gets more high-quality titles and receives better versions of the “Move” and camera, not many gamers are going to risk getting the headset.
