Microsoft just announced a game from a major franchise that is coming to Xbox Game Pass soon, but that may not be the only huge announcement in the pipeline. A clue hinting at the potential addition of “Assassin's Creed: Valhalla” to the gaming subscription service was recently spotted as well.
The report comes from XGP’s Kacper Kościański, who spotted a Game Pass badge on “Assassin's Creed: Valhalla” while browsing the Polish Xbox Store last week. While the badge was later removed from the game, a screenshot in the same report shows that it was added to the game’s cover for a while. It was also interesting that seemingly leaked information was seen around the exact second anniversary of the game.
Microsoft typically unveils the second lineup of games coming to Game Pass in the middle of the month. So, if “Assassin's Creed: Valhalla” is actually planned to be added to the service soon, an announcement may be imminent.
However, it remains to be seen whether the addition of the Game Pass logo on “Assassin's Creed: Valhalla” was a total mistake or an accidental leak from Xbox’s digital storefront. But this is not the first time that the same publication spotted the Game Pass badge on titles that are yet to be added to the service’s games catalog.
XGP also found the Game Pass badge stamped on the “Battlefield 2042” page on the Xbox store last April. At the time, a Reddit user also spotted “FIFA 22” with the label “Get it with Xbox Game Pass” on the Xbox app.
Microsoft and EA did not immediately confirm if those sightings were accurate. But EA later announced in July that “FIFA 22” was coming to EA Play, which meant it will be available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as well.
On the other hand, it took longer for EA to confirm that “Battlefield 2042” is coming to the subscription service. After the late-April leak, developer DICE announced in a recent online event that the game will be available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which will coincide with the start of Season 3.
DICE did not say exactly when “Battlefield 2042” Season 3 will go live. But the developer said in a blog post that it is “only a few weeks away.”
