‘XXX: The Return of Xander Cage’ lead actor Vin Diesel shared one final photograph on social media after filming wrapped recently. It featured Diesel engaged in an extreme underwater stunt involving a motorbike. Meanwhile, football superstar Neymar Jr. is set to make his Hollywood debut in a surprise cameo.
According to MovieWeb, D.J. Caruso’s highly anticipated third installment in the ‘XXX’ cinematic series has recently wrapped principal photography and is currently in post-production in time for the scheduled release in January 2017.
It seems that Diesel, who returns to the franchise as the titular Xander Cage after a long absence, saved the best photograph from the film set for last. He took to Instagram to post an image of himself riding a dirt bike underwater. It was captioned, "That's a wrap for XxX... Proud of the cast and crew for making magic. Xander.”
The new film promises more death defying stunts for its adventure-crazed thrill-seeking lead protagonist as well as other members of the cast that includes Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose, Samuel L. Jackson, Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, Conor McGregor, and Deepika Padukone.
Meanwhile, Brazilian star footballer Neymar Jr. is set to make a surprise cameo in the new film. According to an article on Al Arabiya, Diesel praised Neymar Jr.’s performance in a post on his social media account. The photograph with Neymar Jr. and Diesel was captioned, “So proud to announce that @neymarjr has filmed his first day on XxX. He is a natural!!!#thereturnofxandercage”
Neymar Jr. plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Brazil National Team as a forward or winger.
‘XXX: The Return of Xander Cage’ is an upcoming action film directed by D.J. Caruso and produced by Diesel, Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Samantha Vincent. Gloria S. Borders, Scott Hemming, Ric Kidney, and Vince Totino are executive producing.
The new film marks the return of Diesel as the main protagonist after being replaced by Ice Cube in the preceding film ‘XXX: State of the Union’. The second installment failed to achieve the original film’s financial success, having underperformed at the box office with only $71 million earned against an $87 million production budget. In contrast, the first ‘XXX’ film released in 2002 earned $277.4 million worldwide against a budget of $70 million.
