ATLANTA, GA, Feb. 05, 2018 -- World Micro is proud to announce the appointment of President & CEO Dan Ellsworth to the ECIA Foundation Board of Directors.
“It is an honor to join the ECIA Foundation Board of Directors. I look forward to collaborating with other leaders in raising awareness of STEM opportunities, and the many other career possibilities within our industry,” stated Dan Ellsworth.
Dan has served as President & CEO of Atlanta based World Micro since 1995. During his tenure, World Micro has focused and expanded on the distribution of under-represented franchise lines in the US. He has also been involved in ensuring growth for World Micro’s aerospace business, which includes maintaining AS9120 certification.
The ECIA Foundation promotes the value of the electronics components industry and facilitates their members’ efforts to give back by encouraging careers in the industry and supporting education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
"It is such a pleasure to work with business leaders like Dan at Micro who take steps to give back to the industry through programs like those the ECIA Foundation sponsors," added Debbie Conyers, ECIA Foundation Executive Director. "It's only through the active involvement of people like Dan that these efforts are successful."
ECIA Foundation Board members support organizations that influence and promote STEM careers and studies through initiatives like FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), Veterans Hiring, and College Student employment opportunities.
