‘Wayward Pines’ season 2’s episode 10, entitled “Bedtime Story”, will follow Theo as he makes a crucial decision to come up with a strategy to save the town from an impending Abbie attack.
The synopsis posted on Carter Matt stated, “As the Abbies descend upon the town, Theo is forced to make a decision that could seal humanity’s fate.” The finale’s promo showed a massive number of Abbies in the forest heading straight to town. Theo (Jason Patric) is seen struggling to come to a decision to save the people from an impending death. He has taken over the role as the leader following Jason’s (Tom Stevens) demise in the preceding episode after a confrontation with Kerry (Kacey Rohl).
The promo showed the people beginning to evacuate but it doesn’t seem that things are not moving smoothly. Crowds are getting unruly and check-point officers are getting more aggressive. It seems that sacrifices have been made for the sake of the masses.
It is unclear which strategy Theo is forced to make. Episode 9, entitled "Walcott Prep", saw Jason alerting the town of an imminent Abbie attack causing mass hysteria and panic. Abbies began gathering at the wall and Jason soon realized that it wouldn’t take long before the structure will be breached. He was convinced that the only way to save humanity was to put the town back into cryo suspension.
However, C.J. (Djimon Hounsou) realized that there wasn’t enough resources to power all the cryo pods. These could only take half of the current population of Wayward Pines. Jason hinted that they must select the best candidates and leave the defectives causing Theo to question if Kerry is one of the defectives since she can no longer bear children.
The penultimate episode also featured major twists and turns for the characters. According to Moviepilot, Jason learned that Kerry was his biological mother after accessing Pilcher’s (Toby Jones) confidential files. It turned out that Kerry gave up Jason over to Pilcher for adoption in the year 2013.
He later angrily confronted Kerry, who was equally unaware that Jason was the child she had given up all along. Matters take a turn for the worst when Jason’s gun goes off after a struggle with the weapon. By the very end of the episode, both are seen lying in a pool of blood. It turned out that Jason succumbed to the gun shot.
‘Wayward Pines’ is a mystery-thriller and science-fiction television series based on the novels of the same name authored by Blake Crouch. The series premiered on Fox on May 2015. ‘Wayward Pines’ season 2’s episode 10 is set to air on the network on July 27, 2016.
