It is not all about winning to some “Valorant” players, and not for the right reasons. In previous months, developers and players have been inconvenienced by some individuals deliberately joining a match only to be “away from keyboard” or AFK to simply collect XP. Hopefully, the changes included in patch 2.05 will make these so-called AFK farmers think twice.
‘Valorant’ patch 2.05 will punish players if they are AFK too much
“Valorant” developer Riot Games has just released patch 2.05, and one of the areas it is focused on is updating the punishments for AFK players. The developer promised that the latest update would improve its AFK detection system, although it was not specified in the patch notes how they are doing it.
”Valorant” patch 2.05 is also updating Riot Games’ set of punishments for players going AFK in matches. The penalties can range from official warnings to getting banned from the game. Players guilty of this practice could also lose the XP given in the match they were AFK. They could also be restricted from joining some queues or even get banned from the Competitive mode queues.
It is quite obvious that one of the areas focused on in “Valorant” patch 2.05 is how players interact with others, whether during matches and in the lobby. As Riot Games put it, they want fans to be on their “best behavior.” So aside from improving AFK sanctions, the developer is also updating penalties for “chat-based offenses.”
The developer also reiterated in patch 2.05 that “Valorant” players involved in “zero tolerance offenses” could get immediately banned from the game. In an earlier blog post, Riot Games listed “violence, threats, or targeted harassment” as actions placed under zero tolerance.
‘Valorant’ patch 2.05 introduces few Agent changes
Once the game is updated to patch 2.05, “Valorant” players will also find newly added unique keybinds for agents Sova and Astra for when they fly up and down when using Owl Drone and Astral Form, respectively. A change is also applied to Astra, so the character will start Spike Rush matches with 5-star charges. Meanwhile, Killjoy’s staple move is also slightly changed as the agent can no longer place a Lockdown on cosmetic geo pieces after jumping.
