SALT LAKE CITY, April 5, 2016 -- The University System of Maryland has signed a system-wide contract to select Kuali Research as its electronic research administration solution. The first five institutions to implement Kuali Research are the University of Maryland College Park, Towson University, University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and Salisbury University. The contract will allow all Maryland System schools to be able to benefit from the advanced capabilities of Kuali Research and save money by working together.
Kuali Research is a product of the collaborative efforts of more than 40 institutions and is developed specifically for higher education. The Maryland System institutions will use the Kuali Research SaaS solution to streamline the maintenance and tracking of detailed information on research awards and subawards. Two of the institutions are long-standing members of the Kuali community. One institution is currently running Kuali Research on premise and is moving to the SaaS version.
Unlike conventional systems that often require expensive and disruptive upgrades, Kuali Research continuously delivers new and enhanced capabilities that respond quickly to feedback from research administration professionals, optimizing their performance and improving their experience.
Kuali Research simplifies proposal preparation, review and approvals through a single source of comprehensive and accurate data and insights. Institutions can automatically submit proposals through integration with grants.gov, and upon receiving an award, can manage funding, coordinate related compliance protocols, meet disclosure requirements, and oversee management plans. The solution also includes an extensive set of key reports and embedded ad-hoc reporting, allowing users to quickly access research related data and make insightful, data-driven decisions.
