USHCC To Honor Cindy McCain with 2017 “Excellence In Leadership Award”

Washington, D.C., Sept. 11, 2017 -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate Cindy McCain, as the recipient of its 2017 “Excellence in Leadership Award.” Cindy McCain will be presented with this prestigious award at the USHCC’s National Convention in Dallas, Texas, on October 1^st, 2017.

The Excellence in Leadership Award pays tribute to an extraordinary woman who has devoted her professional career and personal life to revolutionizing the world of business, entertainment, philanthropy, or government. Previous honorees include Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, iconic journalist and talk show host Cristina Saralegui, seven-time Grammy-Award winning artist Gloria Estefan, businesswoman and co-owner of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball franchise Linda Alvarado, and Cosmopolitan for Latinas’ Editor in Chief Michelle Herrera Mulligan.

Cindy McCain has been a steadfast advocate for victims of this modern-day slavery. In Congress, she has testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee to assert the necessity of foreign aid to the Democratic Republic of Congo and draw attention the sex crimes in the country. She has spoken up for victims at home in the United States as well, speaking alongside politicians and celebrities to fight trafficking.
