Chinese leaders deliberately (allegedly) delivered a diplomatic snub when they provided red carpeted staircases to get down of the plane to all the global leaders arriving for the G20 in China that include, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South Korea’s Park Geun-Hye, Brazilian President Michel Temer but failed to do so for the United States President Barrack Obama. President Obama had to come down through a little-used exit in the belly of Air Force one. Even after he landed and finally reached the red carpet, heated exchanges could be seen between the US and the Chinese officials.
However, when Mr. President was asked to comment on the Airport mishap, he said, “I wouldn’t over-crank the significance of it because, as I said, this is not the first time that these things happen and it doesn’t just happen here. It happens in a lot of places including, by the way, sometimes our allies.” The last phrase indicates that China isn’t an ally of the United States.
His colder reception at the G20, unlikely to go well with the voters in the United States, where the political arena is heated up more than ever. Republican Presidential candidate , Donald Trump had already suggested that global leaders like Vladimir Putin in Russia don’t respect Obama and this mishap is likely to fuel that debate in favor of Trump.
