U.S. President Donald Trump announced that details on which global leaders will serve on the newly established Gaza Board of Peace are expected to be unveiled early next year. Speaking during an economic briefing in the White House Roosevelt Room, Trump said that interest in joining the board is high among world leaders, noting that “kings, presidents, prime ministers — they all want to be on the Board of Peace.” According to him, the lineup will be announced after the new year and is shaping up to be “one of the most legendary boards ever.”
The Board of Peace was authorized under a United Nations Security Council resolution adopted on November 17, a measure drafted by the United States as part of a broader Gaza peace framework. The resolution followed efforts to stabilize a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas militants and outlined the creation of a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza. The Board of Peace is designed to act as a transitional administrative body that will coordinate redevelopment initiatives, allocate funding, and establish a long-term framework for Gaza’s recovery in line with Trump’s 20-point peace plan.
Under the resolution, the board will remain active until the Palestinian Authority completes its required reform program and demonstrates it can securely and effectively resume full governance in Gaza. This transitional period is intended to support humanitarian relief, strengthen governance structures, and pave the way for sustainable peace efforts backed by the international community.
Trump emphasized that the strong international interest reflects global recognition of the board’s significance in shaping Gaza’s future. As anticipation grows, world leaders and observers await the official announcement of who will take part in what Trump describes as a historic peace initiative aimed at stabilizing and rebuilding the region.
