Trezor, the leading bitcoin hardware wallet, has announced that it will hold a 50-hour “Trezor 2.0 Hackathon” on September 27-29 in Prague, Czech Republic, and simultaneously revealed few details on its upcoming device comprising of new and exciting hardware features and a completely revamped software stack.
“TREZOR 2.0 is a personal security device ideal for protecting digital money, smart assets, online privacy and great for encrypting documents, data or communication - all with a simple button click”, the website reads.
The participants will be guided and mentored by four of the most renowned security hackers and crypto experts - Andreas M. Antonopoulos, Dr. Jochen Hoenicke (johoe), Marek Palatinus (slush) and Pavol Rusnak (stick).

Organized by SatoshiLabs, the innovative company behind TREZOR, the hackathon will focus on three main categories:
- Hacking TREZOR which will include exploring possibilities if the new hardware and bug hunting
- TREZOR Infrastructure which will focus on improving support for other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, smart contracts and smart asset apps, easy to use secure messaging / email with GPG, encryption of file documents and / or entire disks etc.
- TREZOR Design which will revolve around creating stunning hardware design, useful and cool accessories and much more.
SatoshiLabs recently entered into an alliance with Tech Bureau Corp., a Japan-based blockchain solutions company and operator of bitcoin exchange Zaif, to support the sales and promotion of TREZOR in Japan.
