BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Aug. 29, 2017 -- Tractor Supply Company, the nation’s largest rural lifestyle retailer and manufacturer of 4health® premium pet food and treats, will satisfy your pet’s primal hunger with the launch of Untamed, a dog and cat food line made from exotic meats.
Untamed expands the successful 4health brand with six grain-free, dry-food formulas made from the meats that dogs and cats crave—buffalo, boar, lamb, duck, salmon and trout. Offering quality nutrition with a rich balance of vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, antioxidants and protein, Untamed includes super-premium options for both dogs and cats.
- For dogs: the Southern Bayou Recipe, a wild boar and lentil formula; and the Red Canyon Recipe, a buffalo and lentil formula
- For cats: the Stillwater Marsh Recipe, a duck and lentil formula; and the Glacial Stream Recipe, a salmon and lentil formula
Additionally, Untamed will feature two limited-ingredient, grain-free dog food formulas where meat is 49 percent of the ingredients: the Wild River Recipe, a trout and lentil formula; and the Open Highland Recipe, a lamb and lentil formula.
Manufactured in the United States, every bag of Untamed is packed with high-quality meat and mixed with lentils for additional protein and essential nutrients.
“The first ingredient of 4health Untamed is always a natural meat found in the wild, which creates a flavor profile that our dogs and cats instinctively crave,” said Seth Estep, senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Tractor Supply. “With Untamed, your pet is eating the same nutritious, lean meats its ancestors ate to survive and you’re saving money on healthy food that ignites your pet’s wild spirit.”
Untamed’s exotic meat-first formulas have important health benefits for dogs and cats, according to Alexia Heldman, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist for 4health.
“Pet owners looking for wholesome, flavorful nutrition will find that the lean, exotic meats used in Untamed have fewer calories and far less fat than traditional pet food proteins,” Heldman said. “You will never see starchy fillers, artificial flavors or unhealthy additives that can cause allergies or digestive problems—only delicious, real food sources filled with the nutrients and quality your pet deserves.”
In addition to Untamed, 4health produces a variety of products for puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, including dry and wet dog and cat food and dog treats. Untamed and all 4health products are available exclusively at Tractor Supply stores nationwide and at TractorSupply.com.
