The release date for “Toy Story 4” may have been moved to a later date, but fans of this upcoming fourth installment to the hugely popular movie franchise are still excited. It seems the original cast is coming back to reprise their roles and voice their characters one more time. However, the people behind the film have revealed that “Toy Story 4” will apparently be a standalone movie.
Based on the new schedule, “Toy Story 4” will be released for both the U.S. and the U.K. on June 21, 2019, Radio Times reports. That is a Friday, which should be perfect for parents with kids or viewers who are kids at heart. When the movie premieres, however, it’s best to expect huge crowds since this is a Pixar film.
Now, the movie was originally scheduled for release on June of this year. However, it would appear that production for the film was taking much longer than the people behind the film were anticipating. As a result, it was pushed back for a period of two years. With that kind of breathing room, the creative minds working on “Toy Story 4” should have plenty of opportunities to deliver an amazing experience.
Part of that experience will be the cast, the original bunch of which will all apparently return, Otaku Art reports. Tom Hanks will still be voicing the franchise’s lead, Woody, while Tim Allen will be coming back as the voice of Buzz Lightyear.
As for the plot of the movie, Pixar president Jim Morris had already revealed that “Toy Story 4” would stand apart from the previous trilogy. Instead of continuing from where “Toy Story 3” left off, the characters will apparently go on a new adventure. It will be filled with love and romance, which can be difficult to fathom in a movie about toys.
