‘Total War: Three Kingdoms’ patch 1.5.0: Free content introduces new playable character, faction, gameplay changes

Creative Assembly has been spicing up the “Total War: Three Kingdoms” with the release of new content. This time, players can download the paid DLC called “A World” Betrayed,” which brings in new factions and characters for them to try out.

However, gamers who are not too keen on paying for the new DLC just yet will still be getting some action up ahead. Alongside the introduction of “A World Betrayed,” Creative Assembly will be releasing the “Total War: Three Kingdoms” patch 1.5.0, which is a free content update.

New playable character and faction

Patch 1.5.0 will introduce a new playable character named Yan Baihu or White Tiger Yan, who is a bandit, according to PC Invasion. The character can be played in both 190 CE and 194 CE start dates and also sports his unique weapon called Tiger’s Claws.

His White Tiger Confederation faction will have the Shanyue Camps, a minor settlement building that provides food, access to tribal units and a research speed bonus. White Tiger Yan’s doctrine also grants “strengthening benefits which correlate to the size of coalition it belongs to or alliance it is a member of.”

The character will also be able to recruit new units. These include Yue Tribesmen, Yue Remnant Warriors, White Tiger Warriors, and White Tiger Raiders.

New legendary characters

The “Total War: Three Kingdoms” patch 1.5.0 will also all new legendary characters. In fact, there will be sixteen of them that can appear in campaigns. Some of the most notable ones include the Wu warriors Cheng Pu and Zhou Tai, Lu Bu’s rebels Chen Gong and Gao Shun, the Quia sisters, Zhang Hong and Zhang Zhao.

The patch will also add a new character type that’s distinguishable from New Legendary Characters. They sport unique art and include Lady Mi, Lady Bian, Wang Lang, Yan Yu, Ji Ling, Li Jue, and Lui Yao. However, they are not available in custom or multiplayer battles.

Bandits gameplay changes

The “Total War: Three Kingdoms” patch 1.5.0 will also introduce changes to the bandits’ gameplay. They will now have their own unique tech tree to unlock as well as their own faction mechanics. Unlike other factions whose bid up cities to flourish, bandits will raise armies to raid settlements.

“Total War: Three Kingdoms” patch 1.5.0 will be released on March 19. For more details, see the patch notes here.
