Tom Cruise is known to be a big supporter of the Church of Scientology, and according to experts, a fixation like the actor's fascination with the controversial religion could start when a person hurts their head. The actor banged his head on the ground after leaping from their home’s roof when he was a child, and a report has linked the head trauma to his current obsession with the religion founded by American science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
Radar Online reported that Tom Cruise was unconscious after his stunt but luckily he did not sustain any other major injury from the incident. “One of my first stunts was jumping off the roof of my house when I was about four years old, with new sheets and ropes tied around me,” he recounted to British movie magazine Empire (via Radar).
“I jumped off the roof. Luckily it had rained that morning and I hit this mud puddle and as my head slammed between both my legs, I’ll literally never forget it.”
Now, according to Radar, experts stated that even if there was no visible injury, incidents like the intense impact against the actor's head could “forever alter brain chemistry and set people on certain career paths and even give them fixations on religion.”
It was added that “depending on the part of the brain affected and the severity of the injury, the result on any one individual can vary greatly.” They also said that changes in the person’s personality and lack of impulse control may also result from head trauma similar to what Tom Cruise experienced in his childhood.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop debunked a report that says Tom Cruise is having a midlife meltdown which allegedly affected his ties with Scientology. Australia’s Woman’s Day claimed that the “Mission Impossible” actor has become a broken man after Katie Holmes left him and not being able to see his daughter Suri Cruise for a long time.
A supposed insider allegedly told the magazine, “Tom is still a big deal in the industry and had a successful comeback with the last Mission: Impossible movie but his reputation isn’t what it was and a lot of that has to do with the fact his personal life is virtually in tatters.”
It went on to state that Tom Cruise is now also thinking of leaving Scientology so he can see his daughter again. He allegedly just realized the value of his family and that he is now miserable and in the midst of breaking down.
As said, Gossip Cop claimed that this story is false. Tom Cruise is not experiencing a midlife crisis. In fact, he is too busy with his work to be sad about his life. He is living his life to the fullest and doing what he loves best and this cannot be considered as having a meltdown.
