No matter the time of year, Steam Sales are events that PC gamers can’t help but look forward to. There are three Steam Sales lined up before Christmas, which include Halloween, Autumn, and Winter. The dates of these events have recently been leaked and developers actually confirmed them. Now, gamers can mark their calendars for the three consecutive times they burn cash.
For the Steam Halloween Sale, the event starts on October 26th and ends on November 1st, 2017, Kotaku reports. The Steam Autumn Sale, which also coincides with Black Friday will start on November 22nd and will last until November 28th, 2017. Finally, the Steam Winter Sale will start on December 21st and will end on January 4th, 2018.
The publication reached out to some of the developers connected to these events and they reportedly confirmed that the dates are legitimate. On the other hand, the exact times that the sales will start have not been confirmed for every region.
In fact, there’s no guarantee that the sale dates will be the same everywhere and for what time. On the other hand, there are very few reasons to suspect that this won’t be the case, especially with developers confirming the dates themselves.
For US consumers, the most dangerous of these sales events will likely be Black Friday, Forbes notes. Not only will the discounts apply to the games on Steam, stores will also be offering steep markdowns on peripherals, gaming rigs, and whatever else gamers will want. It’s essentially the most blatant example of rabid consumerism that is sure to leave more than a few bank accounts dangerously in the red.
Regardless of the potential danger of ill-advised financial decisions made during these times, however, it’s still a fact that the Steam Sales are sure to see some major crowds. Gamers should also make note of the major thematic elements, with the Halloween Sale being likely composed of spooky games.
