The release of “The Winds of Winter” has been delayed a few times but good news might have come in. It was said that George R.R. Martin may finally be publishing the book earlier than expected. The update came from the artist who illustrated the covers of the Spanish versions of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” books.
While Martin previously told the press that “The Winds of Winter” is not coming out this year, the artist suggested that it will be released around the time when the “Game of Thrones” final season airs. According to Winter Is Coming, the Spanish artist, Enrique Jiménez Corominas, illustrated the cover of “A Dance with Dragons” and his recent post on social media stirred rumors that “TWOW” is on its way to bookshelves.
“A Dance with Dragons” is the fifth book in the “ASOIAF” and “The Winds of Winter” is next. According to his tweet, he recently completed another cover for George RR Martin’s book. And when one follower commented that the artist was probably talking about the “Fire and Blood” novel, he replied in the negative.
“This stays between us, but I just finished a cover for a book by George R.R. Martin,” Corominas wrote on Twitter. “It’s not for Fire and Blood.”
After his clarification, people quickly assumed that he was referring to “The Winds of Winter” since George RR Martin just completed “Fire and Blood” and the former is the only book that he is working on right now. Unfortunately, Enrique did not confirm which book he was talking about so fans just have to wait for the announcement to confirm if “TWOW” is really coming out soon.
Meanwhile, George RR Martin is releasing “Fire and Blood” on Nov. 20. It is a companion book that will help readers know more about the Targaryens and their history.
