“The Winds of Winter” is still not coming after years of missed deadlines. George RR Martin, the author of the “Game of Thrones” novel previously admitted that he has been struggling to finish the book. He added that one of the reasons for the delays is that there were lots of distractions around him so he made the decision to avoid going to events like activities for “GoT” including its filming to focus on writing.
True to his words, George RR Martin cut back on his public appearances just to complete “The Winds of Winter,” the sixth book in his “Song of Ice and Fire” series. The Wall Street Journal even reported that the author is “in hiding” in an effort to finish “TWOW.”
The paper wrote that he is in remote mountain hideaway but the world-famous writer refused to divulge the exact location. Martin is said to be writing “The Winds of Winter” is a cabin where he usually locks himself up when writing.
Now, it was reported this week that George RR Martin has been invited as the guest of honor at the 2019 TitanCon that will be held on Aug. 22 to 25 in Belfast. It was said that the author accepted the invitation so he would be there.
Aside from this, he is also expected to appear at the World Science Fiction Convention, or Worldcon because he does not miss this particular event even when went into hiding for “The Winds of Winter” last year. This will be held in Dublin from Aug. 15 to 19 so Martin has two events coming up this August.
With these appearances, does it mean that George RR Martin already completed “The Winds of Winter?” This could be proof that the book is ready for release since he is out of his “cave” already.
However, there is no announcement or update yet, perhaps, it would be a surprise release? While this is possible, George RR Martin has yet to give more hints that will totally ensure that “The Winds of Winter” is indeed coming out any time now. Finally, fans should watch out for notice because we’ll never know - it may arrive unexpectedly.
