George R. R. Martin has encountered many criticisms for the years-long breaks in “A Song of Ice and Fire” book saga. But the renowned author is confident that he can finish his work on the series, which means “The Winds of Winter” will certainly arrive.
Unfortunately, the demand by fans has somehow gone to the extreme at a certain point with some of them insinuating that Martin might die before releasing “The Winds of Winter” or finishing the entire series. The author had previously responded to these speculations calling it “offensive” and topping it off with a solid: “F*** you to those people.”
Even though Martin has yet to announce an official release date for “The Winds of Winter,” the author has been mentioning the book and promising that he never stopped working on it. But there are still frustrated fans who started to seriously doubt “ASoIaF” will ever be finished and proposed to fellow fans that they might as well stop hoping now.
However, in one of his latest blog posts, Martin reiterated his promise that “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring” will be released. After thanking his loyal fans for supporting the most recent book he released called “Fire and Blood,” Martin wrote, “It won’t be tomorrow, and it won’t be next week, but you will get the end of ‘A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE.’”
Despite being under the microscope of some fans in the past years, Martin admitted last November that there was a time he started having problems with writing “The Winds of Winter.” “I’ve been struggling with it for a few years,” the author told the Guardian.
He also confessed that writing “The Winds of Winter” has been “very, very challenging” before promising that it is “next” on his to-do list. It still hard to say if this novel will arrive within this year. But Martin told fans about his stay at his “fortress of solitude, and back in Westeros” to focus on finishing the book.
