‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8, Episode 4 Spoilers: “An Eternity of Misery” – Sybil Threatens Stefan With Sister’s Existence; Damon Staying Evil?

Paul Wesley plays Stefan on The CW's 'The Vampire Diaries'

‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 4, entitled “An Eternity of Misery”, will feature Sybil threatening Stefan with her sister. She tells him that although she is imprisoned, her sibling is out in the world. Meanwhile, Damon may just stay evil despite his brother’s attempts to save him.

The synopsis for episode 4 posted on Carter Matt stated, “Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell (guest star Joel Gretsch) leads to a surprising revelation.

Meanwhile, after gaining the upper hand in their fight to save Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric (Matt Davis) team up and uncover the origins of the mysterious force they’re up against. Finally, Matt (Zach Roerig) returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way.”

It seems that the incoming episode may introduce the siren Sybil’s (Nathalie Kelley) sister. The series’ latest antagonist has been captured and is currently behind bars. She doesn’t seem too concerned as she threatens Stefan that she has a sister running loose in the outside world.

The promo opened with Sybil saying, “There are two of us. My sister. Me in here, and her out there.” There is a scene where a woman is dragged from the ground and up in the air. It is unclear whether this woman was Sybil’s sister or if she was responsible for the power behind the girl’s torment.

Alaric then asks, “Who is she?” Sybil only replies, “I promise you’ll find out soon enough.” Stefan doesn’t seem to care about a second siren possibly running amok. He tells the prisoner grimly, “All I care about is how to save my brother.”

Flashes of Damon going about his murderous tasks are then seen. Sybil warns, “Damon’s fate is already sealed. Damon believes in hell. We’re just as doomed as he is.” Although Sybil looks genuinely scared while telling Stefan this, it could all be just an act.

According to Wetpaint, Sybil’s sister may just be a more dangerous force to be reckoned with. Considering Alaric and Georgie’s discovery of the tuning fork artifact, it could be that the two prongs represent the two sisters – one being a siren, and the other being the demon herself.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 4, entitled “An Eternity of Misery”, is scheduled to premiere on The CW on November 11, 2016. It was directed by Rob Hardy and written by Neil Reynolds and Brett Matthews.
