‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 13, titled "The Lies Are Going to Catch Up with You," is set to feature the return of the villainous Kai to Mystic Falls.
The synopsis for "The Lies Are Going to Catch Up with You" posted on TV Guide states, “Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) face an old enemy after they obtain a weapon that may be able to destroy Cade (Wole Parks). Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) is held captive by a surprising acquaintance and is forced to confront a dark secret from his past; and Cade digs deep in Bonnie's (Kat Graham) mind.”
According to Cartermatt, Chris Wood is set to return as Kai, one of the series’ deadliest villains. Malachai Parker was the main antagonist of season 6 and was first introduced in season 6’s episode 3, titled “Welcome to Paradise.” He was a member of the Parker family and a leader of the Gemini Coven, a group of Witches from the Pacific Northwestern region of the United States best known for their cloaking spells and leader selection of a set of twins.
Kai was first seen making an alliance with Damon and Bonnie when they were trapped in a prison world. The trio wanted to escape the parallel dimension and return to the real world.
According to Comicbook Movie, Kai was last seen putting Elena (Nina Dobrev) into a mystical sleep until Bonnie’s death and was also momentarily decapitated by an angry Damon. It seems that Kai will return for some revenge and unfinished business, including offering assistance to Damon and Alaric in the fight against Cade.
Meanwhile the other Salvatore brother will continue struggling with his past demons as he is held captive by an acquaintance. Caroline (Candice King) and Matt (Zach Roerig) will have to work together to save Stefan from letting his past destroy him.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 13, titled "The Lies Are Going to Catch Up with You," is set to be released on February 17, 2017 on The CW. It was directed by Tony Solomons and written by Neil Reynolds.
