‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods’ episode 21: Arthur wields true power of Excalibur

Nanatsu no Taizai / Facebook

Arthur has finally wielded the power of Excalibur. But he might be facing a serious challenge in “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods" episode 21, especially since he is facing both Meliodas and Zeldris.

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 20 recap

Merlin finally started to repair Gowther who was previously damaged due to Chandler’s spell. Gowther said he has a favor to ask from Merlin, something that is likely related to his repair. However, it was not revealed just what his request was. But even Merlin seemed surprisee, which might suggest it has to be something very significant.

Hawk and Escanor were tasked with buying materials needed for Gowther’s repair. However, they ran into someone totally unexpected – an angry Ludociel who demanded where Escanor stole his power from.

Turns out that Ludociel suspected that Escanor’s power might have come from Mael, their fallen fourth Archangel. As explained by Ludociel, Escanor’s power is like Taiyoy, a Grace that was given to Mael by the Supreme Deity.

However, Escanor explained that the power has always been with him since birth. The explanation seemed satisfactory to Ludociel.

Meanwhile, Arthur Pendragon really made his way into Camelot to retrieve the sword just as previous “The Seven Deadly Sins” spoilers predicted. However, he was intercepted by Zeldris and Cusack so Cath had to act as the diversion so Arthur could make his escape.

He eventually arrived at the room where the Excalibur was located. Unfortunately, Zerdris and Cusack caught up to him as well but they were prevented from harming him by Meliodas.

Arthur was disappointed when he sensed that Meliodas had turned into a demon. He then pulled Excalibur and challenge Meliodas, Zeldris, and Cusack to a fight.

He was attacked by Chandler but, surprisingly, he was unharmed. He then snatched the wounded Cath while simultaneously wounding Cusack. Zeldris attacked next but Arthur was able to meet his attack as well.

As explained by Merlin, it was because of the Excalibur. Basically, those who are acknowledged by the sword will have access to all of the techniques of its previous owners. That’s why Arthur was able to stand his ground even when he was attacked by both Zeldris and Meliodas.

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 21 predictions

However, fighting the two Demon princes might be a bit too much for Arthur to handle at his current level of power. In “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 21, he will finally run out of energy to the point where he can no longer wield the sword.

Thankfully, Merlin will arrive in time to rescue Arthur in “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 3 episode 21. However, the demons have already made preparations for such kind of scenario. Cusack, in particular, might have already a method to harm Arthur even if the latter managed to escape.
