“The Orville” Season 3 has been greenlit by Fox to the delight of the series’ fan base. This isn’t surprising since the show provided the network with stellar rating performance, receiving a massive following from audiences ranging from 18-49 years old.

Prior to the ordering of “The Orville” Season 3,” one of its stars was pretty confident that it will be returning. Chad Coleman, the actor, playing Klyden in the series, said a few weeks ago that although Fox has yet to make a decision, there’s a certain air surrounding the show that almost guarantees the renewal, Cinema Blend reported.

“You guys, make some noise out there. It's a special show and it should be around. Fingers crossed. We've heard some things, but I can't – you know how it goes,” Coleman said. The predecessor of “The Orville” Season 3 ended on a rather impressive note given how the story was handled.

An alternate timeline is always tricky to pull off, but Seth MacFarlane found a sweet spot to land the story’s plotline, touching on several themes before settling everything down. And speaking of conclusions, it appears that “The Orville” Season 3 is going to be featuring Alara (Halston Sage) once more.

At least, that’s what some of the fans are hoping to happen. The recent finale saw that Alara and John (J. Lee) had a history in the alternate timeline and it would be cool to see if “The Orville” Season 3 picks up from this setup. There’s also Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) and Ed’s (MacFarlane) storyline to consider.

With the former accepting the latter’s invitation for a second date, “The Orville” Season 3 could explore this arc and see what avenue the pair’s relationship could take. Whatever the case, MacFarlane’s series is going to be returning in the future and fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for the fearless explorers. As for its release date, nothing has been confirmed just yet although speculations would have it that it will land in the tail end of 2019, Space reported.
