“The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11 will be airing on March 21 and fans will be treated with a romance plotline involving Lt. Gordon Malloy (Scott Grimes). The pilot seems to have been smitten by a character named Laura, played by Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.
However, it seems that the other crews aren’t on board about Gordon chasing after the beauty. In the trailer of “The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11, Gordon invited Ed (Seth MacFarlane) and Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) to attend a party. Both were on board with the idea until the pilot mentioned Laura’s name, CarterMatt reported.
Interestingly enough, her arrival comes in the wake of Ed and Gordon promising to never be at odds with each other barring the involvement of a girl. Will Laura cause a rift between the friendship of Ed and Gordon in “The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11? That remains to be seen.
The fans themselves have also offered their own speculation what the writers have mapped out for this particular story. One assumption is that Gordon will be falling in love with a hologram inside the environmental simulator. That would explain the confused expression of Kelly in the trailer of “The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11.
The approach also has precedence in the “Star Trek” franchise as other characters have been in the same boat before. Whatever the case, “The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11 is set to have Gordon falling head over heels to the stunning beauty.
With regards to the series’ future, it seems that FOX is more than contented with how the show is performing so far. Fox Broadcasting Co. Entertainment president Michael Thorn previously said that MacFarlane did a remarkable job in creating the series. He also expressed his excitement about the show’s loyal following saying that the 45-year-old has struck gold once again. And with the “The Orville” Season 2 Episode 11 looking like another solid story, there’s little doubt that the show will once again provide stellar ratings for the network once it airs on March 21.
