“The OA” season 2 is here and the viewers will finally see what will happen next to Prairie. The curiosity on her next adventure was heightened since series creator, Brit Marling, who also plays the titular role, was not able to release the sequel as originally planned. This means the long wait just fueled the fans’ anticipation for the sci-fi fantasy drama.
“The OA” season 2 will narrate the story of Prairie, a blind woman, who in season 1 disappeared for seven years and returned to her town with her eyesight back. It was a big mystery for the townsfolk but as the story unravels, it was learned that she was actually kidnapped and used as a subject for an experiment involving NDE (near death experience).
As Pop Sugar noted, “The OA” season 2 will reveal more truths about the main character, particularly about the universe that she has been talking about throughout the previous season. She also called herself as the “Original Angel” - thus she was now being referred to as the “OA” - and this claim of being an angel is expected to be further explained in the upcoming episodes.
In any case, the trailer for “The OA” season 2 suggests that Prairie finally made it to another dimension after being shot in the school during season 1’s finale. She woke up in a hospital but it appears that she woke to the other side of the world where she is a wealthy Russian heiress and obviously living a better life compared to her real-world status.
Now that she is back to the other dimension, it is yet to see if she will finally meet Homer again. He is, in fact, the reason why Prairie wanted to go to the other side again because she believes it was the only way to see him after their kidnapper known as Dr. Hunter “Hap” Aloysius Percy left the subjects, five of them, in different places so they would never meet each other again.
E! News shared the synopsis for “The OA” season 2 and it reads: “The mind-bending story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive.”
Also, “BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.”
Netflix is set to release “The OA” season 2 on March 22.
