‘The Magicians’ season 2’s episode 8, titled “Word as Bond,” is set to follow the major characters as they deal with their own respective problems. Margo will begin feeling the extreme pressure of ruling Fillory as High Queen while Quentin will struggle with keeping his own issues a secret from his friends.
The short synopsis for “Word as Bond” posted on TV Guide reads, “The Magicians deal with a variety of crises as Quentin (Jason Ralph) struggles to keep his own problem a secret.”
The upcoming episode will follow the major characters of Syfy’s fantasy television series as they struggle to deal with their own trials and tribulations. For one, Margo (Summer Bishil) will begin feeling the pressure of ruling the enchanted realm of Fillory as High Queen.
In the previous episode, titled “Plan B,” Margo’s declaration of war on the Lorians began to escalate. Lorian troops began to march on to Fillory. Depleting supplies and the instability of the Magical Wellspring led Margo and her High King Eliot (Hale Appleman) to the decision to join Julia (Stella Maeve) and Kady’s (Jade Tailor) planned magical bank heist in order to replenish their finances, according to the recap posted on Nerdist.
Meanwhile, Julia’s friends will continue to question her behavior. In the promotional photographs for episode 8 posted on TV Fanatic, Julia and Margo seem to be in an uncomfortable position of having to work together in Fillory while Quentin, Penny (Arjun Gupta), and Kady stay behind at Brakebills. Perhaps they will transition into unexpected allies as they face major issues along the way.
In one image, Julia and Margo are seen meeting with a mystery character that looks to be a creature of the forest. The man is covered head to toe in green moss. Margo looks especially suspicious of the creature as they attempt to make a deal, presumably for the sake of Fillory.
Quentin seems to be going through the worst of all problems as he faces the consequences of the deal he made. The previous episodes revealed that he was actually keeping Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) trapped on his back tattoo until he could figure out a way to un-Niffin her while having to deal with her non-stop commentaries that are mostly too loud to handle.
He had to make a deal with Niffin Alice that allowed her to take over his body for one hour each day in exchange for helping him create the right spell to pick a lock.
‘The Magicians’ season 2’s episode 8, titled “Word as Bond,” is scheduled to air on Syfy on March 15, 2017. It will be followed by episode 9, titled "Lesser Evils," scheduled to be released on March 22.
