Looks like USS Nathan James is heading to Cuba in “The Last Ship” Season 5 Episode 6. According to the official synopsis of the episode, the crew is turning to the aide of a prominent rebel leader for help as they look to create a staging area for them to mount an invasion against Gustavo Barros (Maurice Compte) and his Gran Colombian Empire.
The synopsis didn’t really give away much in terms of plot details, but Hollywood Life managed to get their hands on a more comprehensive breakdown of this week’s episode as they prepare to air drop some of their best officers “into the lion’s den.”
“Miller tries to keep the mood light before it’s all systems go for the invasion. Some of the words hit, some of them miss. Chandler gives Slattery the latest update and says they’re proceeding on schedule,” Avery Thompson wrote in her report for Hollywood Life.
“Slattery takes a deep breath and gives Liberty 1 the OK to proceed. He orders the jam package to be sent and the jamming sequence initiated. There’s a bit of worry about having better eyes on the battlefield, but with no satellites, this is as good as it’s going to get.“
As seen in the trailer for “The Last Ship” Season 5 Episode 6, things didn’t go well as Liberty 1 goes down after he takes a hit. In any case, securing Cuba as a staging area makes a lot of sense because it is strategically located at the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. The USS Nathan James need the island nation on their side if they want to stop Gustavo.
Will the crew escape before Liberty 1 crashes? Find out when “The Last Ship” Season 5 Episode 6 airs on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
