Fox's mutant drama-thriller has started opening up the show's world to the many mutant factions vying for both survival and dominance. But it looks like “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3 is ready to throw a spanner in the works for most of the show's established organizations.
The episode prior to “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3 slowly introduced “The Gifted's” newest character, Polaris's (Emma Dumont) newborn daughter, Dawn. Fans who saw the show's premiere episode know that Polaris's labor was a particularly difficult one, requiring the aid of the Frost sisters' (Skyler Samuels) powers to aid in the delivery of Dawn.
But “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3 opens with the discovery that Dawn has a particular illness that can't be treated by the Inner Circle. The upcoming episode's summary mentions that Polaris is forced to turn to an unpleasant contact to find a way to save her daughter from the potentially fatal sickness. Polaris's newfound worries over Dawn could prove detrimental to the Inner Circle's goals.
In addition to Dawn's birth being a challenge for Polaris and her group's fight to survive in a world hostile to mutants, another potential threat is hinted at for “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3. The summary mentions Thunderbird and Blink – who are hoping to find Polaris – meet with the leader of a group of mutants called The Morlocks, who are also interested in finding the Inner Circle.
Unfortunately, “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3 summary hints that the Morlocks may be searching for Polaris and her child with evil intentions in mind. Hopefully, the true intentions of the Morlocks can be revealed to Thunderbird and Blink before they end up leading the hostile mutant group to Polaris and her new daughter.
Fans looking forward to seeing how Polaris and the members of the Mutant Underground solve the mystery of Dawn's sickness can catch “The Gifted” season 2 episode 3 when it airs on Oct. 9.
