‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 10, titled "Borrowing Problems from the Future," is set to feature Barry as he attempts to change the future in hopes of saving Iris’ life after he finds out Savitar is out to murder her.
According to the summary posted on IMDB, the incoming episode of the superhero and action television series airing on The CW will follow Barry (Grant Gustin) and the rest of team Flash as they shift their focus on preventing Iris’ (Candice Patton) imminent death. They must figure out a way to change the future to save her. It seems that the only way to do that is to travel back to the future.
In the trailer for episode 10, Barry tells Iris that he Savitar kill her in the future. When Iris gets upset about the news, Barry vows, “I swear I will protect you.”
The team then attempts to analyze events leading to her death in hopes of stopping it before it is too late. Barry tells the team, “We need to figure out everything that happens leading to Iris’ death. We can change one of these events; we can change them all.” Barry then enlists Wally a.k.a. Kid Flash’s (Keiynan Lonsdale) help to catch Jared Morillo, a.k.a. Plunder as his first attempts to change the future.
A sneak peak clip posted on Cosmic Book News teased that although Barry and Wally will team up for the new mission, things won’t go as smoothly as planned. It opens to the team congratulating Wally for a job well done as Wally and Barry enter S.T.A.R. Labs.
However, Barry doesn’t look too happy and confronts Wally saying, “Wally, what was that? I mean, you were supposed to be shadowing me.” Wally replies in disbelief, “Wait. You’re mad at me? I thought-“ Barry cuts him off saying, “Observe and learn. That’s it. That’s it! I’m sorry, Wally, but if you can’t learn to follow orders then this deal between us… it’s over.”
Executive producer Aaron Helbing explained Barry’s new mission during a recent interview, “Obviously Barry loves Iris more than anything… And now that he has gotten a glimpse of the future, the thrust of the back half of the season is Barry trying to do whatever it takes to save her.”
‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 10, titled "Borrowing Problems from the Future," is set to air on The CW on January 24, 2017.
