It did not take much time before “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 was confirmed. This could be a good sign that the show is also coming back on its regular schedule.
In fact, “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 was announced right after the season 6 finale aired through an installment of the companion series “Drilling Down” hosted by Matty Blake. The said episode was titled “Legacy” for the apparent reason that they dedicated it to the late Dan Blankenship.
Blake reiterated the news of “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7’s production on his Instagram page with a photo of Blankenship in the background. “Season 6 was a beast. Incredible highs & lows. Fans- know that the team is fueled in great measure by your support. And I am overwhelmed by your kindness & passion. Thank you! ... WE’LL SEE YOU SOON FOR SEASON 7,” Blake wrote in the caption.
It is then very likely that History ordered “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 way before season 6 concluded. This increases the possibility that the TV network would also want to release the same amount of episodes that came out in season 6. The sixth series installment became the biggest one yet after History released more than 30 hours worth of content. It was translated into 22 full episodes plus six more of “Drilling Down” specials.
If “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 has always been in the cards for History, there is a huge possibility that it would maintain its usual premiere schedule since 2014. It might not hurt to expect the show to return in the first half of November.
Meanwhile, what happens next will be unpredictable in terms what the team of Rick and Marty Lagina would find or not find. But Blake has also set the bar high for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 and said in “Drilling Down” season 6 episode 6, “They’ll get down and dirty to search the swamp for extraordinary objects, and return to the infamous Money Pit in a go-for-broke effort to find the legendary treasure vault.”
