“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 episode 1 is about to drop and it will offer fresh details about Rick and Marty Lagina’s progress in their exploration of the mysterious Oak Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. After months of speculations, History finally renewed the show earlier this month and this shot down the rumors that the series has been canceled.
According to Deadline, History ordered 30 episodes for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 and this means 30 hours of unscripted docu-style reality TV. The show is the said satellite television network’s top non-fiction program that regularly rakes in an average of 4 million viewers.
With that record, it is no wonder that History wants more episodes for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6. It was said that the number of episodes ordered for this reality series is the network’s largest order ever.
Prior to the “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6’s release, the show’s official logo picture has been changed. Monsters and Critics noted that when the renewal of the show was announced, the new artwork for the upcoming installment was also released by History.
“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6’s logo now features Marty and Rick Lagina standing on top of the island and they each carry a tool for digging. On one side of the picture, a backhoe is at work.
Meanwhile, season 6 will continue with the Lagina brothers' investigation into the medieval cross that they dug up in the season 5 finale. There was a suggestion that the item could have been left behind by a Knight Templar many centuries ago, and this theory pushes the brothers to further examine the cross.
In the “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 preview, Marty Lagina is also caught on camera saying that they found their first gold. It also appears that the team is now using more advanced equipment like modern metal detectors that could sense objects on a deeper level.
“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. on History.
