“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is not yet officially confirmed as History channel has remained tight-lipped about its plans with regards to airing new episodes of the show. However, aside from the fact that showrunner Kevin Burns revealed that they are looking forward to a crossover between “Ancient Aliens” and “Oak Island,” there are many other things that point to the fact that it will really happen.
For one, EconoTimes previously mentioned that a lot of work is going on on Nova Scotia’s famous island. With the presence and arrival of a film crew, a bunch of heavy equipment, bulldozers, cranes and big trucks around the Money Pit, it is as good as a confirmation that “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is underway.
Moreover, there are big reasons why it should continue after the fifth season. In addition to profits and good viewership ratings, there are centuries-old mysteries to solve. With what Rick and Marty Lagina have found so far, there are a lot more to find out there.
Furthermore, since the “The Curse of Oak Island” series also raises curiosity, it is bringing money to the vicinity of the place due to the arrival of tourists who want to see the area up close. The producers will also not ignore the fact that the series is gaining more attention as more and more people would like to see what the Lagina brothers will unearth next.
These reasons are enough for Kevin Burns and the Lagina brothers to continue with “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6.
What to Expect
Fans are likely to see more footage on activities around the Money Pit and Smith’s Cove. At some point, Marty and Rick Lagina may also search other areas since Oak Island has many spots that are waiting to be explored.
The team will also delve more into one of its biggest discoveries last season. In the finale, they dug up a medieval cross and it was checked. Based on the initial testing, it is a treasure that could be from an era that dates back to more than 600 years ago.
With that time frame, it was suggested that the cross could have belonged to a Knights Templar. This is an amazing find, and one of the show’s professional divers confirmed that “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 will further investigate the mysterious lead cross and its possible connection to the Templars.
Mike Huntley added that this could be the series's best story yet. As per The Chronicle Herald, the diver also disclosed that Oak Island is really mysterious as he could attest that strange things are happening there. He said that the place has a weird vibe and he based his claim on the inexplicable equipment malfunctions and other peculiar events that he experienced while on a dive mission under the Money Pit in the previous season.
“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 has no official premiere date yet as of now but History might set a schedule for its telecast soon.
