“The Blacklist” Season 6 is going to be a turning point for the relationship between Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and Red (James Spader), with the former being intent on destroying the latter. The date for when this quest to burn everything connecting the two will start has just been revealed. The premiere will be a two-hour special and the show has just been given a new timeslot.
In the “The Blacklist” Season 6 synopsis featured at TVLine, it’s clear that the Liz and Red dynamic has reached yet another low point due to secrets, lies, and manipulations. This has been the defining characteristic between these two characters, with every season revealing more about their twisted bond. Both can be major liars and manipulators, but Red has the bigger secrets, thus far.
“Following the startling revelation that Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington isn’t who he says he is, Elizabeth Keen is torn between the relationship she’s developed with the man assumed to be her father and her desire to get to the bottom of years of secrets and lies. Meanwhile, Red leads Liz and the FBI to some of the [strangest] and dangerous criminals yet, growing his empire and eliminating rivals in the process. All throughout, Liz and Red engage in an uneasy cat-and-mouse game in which lines will be crossed and the truth will be revealed,” the synopsis reads.
The “The Blacklist” Season 6 two-hour premiere will launch on Jan. 4, 2019 at 8 p.m., before returning to its new regular timeslot at 9 p.m., Variety reports. This would be a Friday and is a neat vertical move for the series. It first started with a Monday timeslot before being moved to the Thursday spot and then eventually landing the pre-weekend gig.
“The Blacklist” Season 6 will also see the return of many of the show’s main characters. How will this season go for Red and his relationship with Liz?
