“The Big Bang Theory” Season 12 Episode 9 is going to be a rather interesting episode in that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is expected to have his worst meltdown yet. As comedic moments go, this is going to be a fun one, largely because it will likely be the actor’s last one before the show ends. More to the point, Sheldon losing it has always been a highlight for many fans of the sitcom.

In a promo clip for “The Big Bang Theory” Season 12 Episode 9, a scene is shown wherein Sheldon appears to receive news that makes him lose his mind. The scene is set in the apartment that he shares with his wife, Amy (Mayim Bialik), while Leonard (Johnny Galecki) is standing by the door.

Based on how everyone is set up, it’s clear that Leonard just gave Sheldon the bad news that terribly upsets him while working on something important. Considering his subsequent reaction to hearing the details, some are already speculating that his work might have been made obsolete. Did someone just solve String Theory in “The Big Bang Theory” Season 12 Episode 9?

Granted, it could also be something else that is equally as bad for Sheldon. As CarterMatt notes, it would have to have been really unfortunate for the physicist to break his whiteboard as he does in this episode. His character is not exactly known for expressing his emotions through violent actions. In this sense, “The Big Bang Theory” Season 12 Episode 9 might just be the most graphic episode of the series.

“The Big Bang Theory” Season 12 Episode 9 is scheduled to air on Nov. 15 on CBS, which fans might want to mark. Watch as TV’s funniest genius has the meltdown of a lifetime that could also be Jim Parsons’ last on the beloved show.
