‘The 100’ Season 7 release date, cast: Marie Avgeropoulos will be back as Octavia

With last season’s cliffhanger ending, fans have been racking their brains to look for answers on some of the questions that will hopefully be answered when “The 100” Season 7 release date arrives. One of these questions is whether or not Marie Avgeropoulos’s character Octavia really died and won’t be coming back in the show’s final season.

In the previous season, a grown-up Hope Diyoza, Charmaine’s daughter, came out of the Anomaly and, for still unknown reasons, stabbed Octavia causing her to disappear into a green mist. Some might insist that Octavia definitely perished in the stabbing but anything can happen in “The 100.”

But one thing that is for sure is that Marie Avgeropoulos will still be a member of “The 100” season 7 cast. Whether her character might have died in that stabbing or not, the actress will still be reprising her role as Octavia.

This was already revealed by showrunner Jason Rothenberg, according to TV Guide. “Whether she's alive or dead, Marie's amazing and you can safely say we have not seen the last of her,” Rothenberg said. “But whether or not she's dead and we tell her story in flashback or whether or not we see her again in the present, that's something we have to wait and see.”

Hope killing a beloved character such as Octavia might indicate that she’s going to be a villain. However, it appears that it won’t happen in “The 100” Season 7. As teased by Rothenberg, fans are likely going to end up liking the character and her quick wit. Hopefully, her motive for stabbing Octavia will be revealed in the upcoming premiere as well.

Another actor who will be joining “The 100” Season 7 cast is Dakota Daulby who will reprise his role as Sheidheda. “I think it's a safe bet that we'll see him again,” Rothenberg said. “Interestingly, we always kind of set up throughout a season what the next season's story is going to be. We did that in two ways this season. The Anomaly being one and Sheidheda being the other.”

At the moment, no definite “The 100” Season 7 air date has been announced yet. However, many expect the show to return at midseason like before with so it might arrive by April.
