The making of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 has been announced and, based on what happened in the original light novel series, things might be escalating very quick. Not long after the premiere of the second season, the plot is expected to introduce a major dilemma for the Tempest country of the Jura Forest.

According to Monsters & Critics, the early episodes of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 will most likely show Tempest under attack. And, unfortunately, its founder and leader Rimuru will not be around when the siege begins.

The upcoming war in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 does not appear easy for Tempest. The country is going to face several armies wanting to take it down. Anime fans should expect the Western Saints Church as the mastermind of the attack while it also gains substantial help from the military.

Fans might be thinking, “Rimuru should call in his allies to protect Tempest.” And he will. Unfortunately, it will not be that easy to have their allied forces converge as friends of Tempest will also face wars of their own. For example, the Beast Kingdom of Yuurazania and forces of Demon Lord Milim Navathe are expected to battle it out against each other when they were both supposed to be helping Tempest defend its territory.

Another very unfortunate possibility in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 is that Tempest will be attacked at a time when Rimuru went out on his journey. It will be difficult to contact him or let him know about the war with the Western Saints Church because Rimuru is also going to be attacked while he is alone traveling.

Way before “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 was confirmed, directors for the first season — Yasuhito Kikuchi and Atsushi Nakayama — shared what they hoped that fans would most be interested in the first installment. “The most interesting part of the story is the civilization-building and seeing Rimuru make all kinds of new friends,” Nakayama explained to Anime News Network.

“That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 was confirmed shortly after the first installment concluded. It will be released sometime in 2020.
