PITTSBURGH, Oct. 25, 2017 -- Stoltenberg Consulting Inc., a leading healthcare IT consulting firm, announced today that Julie McGuire, Director of Clinical Enterprise Systems at Texas Children’s Hospital, is the 2017 recipient the Stoltenberg Future Fund Scholarship. The scholarship is applied toward secondary education earned at College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) CIO Forums.
This scholarship is the ninth awarded by the Stoltenberg Future Fund program since its inception in 2009. Stoltenberg has pledged a total of $50,000 to the CHIME Education Foundation over a span of 25 years.
“I am passionate about patient care. Technologies support the ability to advance patient outcomes for not only the patients we see today in our system, but also for the populations at risk,” said McGuire. “Stoltenberg’s CHIME scholarship affords me the opportunity to network and learn from current CIOs on how they face today’s challenges in the healthcare environment in their roadmaps for the future.”
The Stoltenberg Future Fund awards scholarships annually to the CHIME Education Foundation for use at any of CHIME's educational events, including the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp, Fall CIO Forum and CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be CHIME members in good standing, express need for financial support for continuing education and describe their professional goals in the healthcare IT industry.
McGuire has been with Texas Children’s Hospital for over 20 years with direct patient care experience as a nurse and advanced practice provider. She first transitioned into IT on a project team during the organization’s EHR implementation. Her current responsibilities include overseeing the advancement of Texas Children’s clinical technologies, including EHR, alarm management, imaging, cardiology and pathology systems, as well core applications for critical communications.
Stoltenberg Consulting is also serving as the foundation sponsor of the CHIME17 Fall Forum Giving Back Event.
