“At Teletrac Navman, we’re committed to building technology that redefines what’s possible within the transportation industry,” said Sid Nair, Sr. Director Transport Practice at Teletrac Navman. “We can’t think of a better investment in the future of our field than supporting the next generation of engineers, designers and thinkers. It’s the most disruptive time in transportation since the creation of the Ford assembly line, with autonomous vehicles and the advent of Smart Cities. We look forward to hearing about what they envision for the groundbreaking transportation technology of tomorrow.”
To enter, applicants must submit either a 500- to 700-word essay or a two-minute video about how their field of study will advance technology in the transportation industry or the creation of smart cities (“smart cities” use data collected from citizens, devices and other assets to monitor and manage municipal systems, including transportation and traffic).
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year U.S. college or university. While the contest is open to students in all academic disciplines, applicants ideally will have completed coursework in technology, software development, transportation or other related areas. The $3,000 prize may be applied toward any academic expense, including textbooks.
The submission deadline is June 20, 2018. To enter, email your essay as a PDF or Word attachment or send a link to your video to [email protected]. Submissions will be reviewed by the Teletrac Navman Scholarship Committee, and the winner will be selected and contacted by July 5.
