'Sweet Home' Season 2 Release Date, Cast and Spoilers: All Things Fans Should Know By Now

Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming "Sweet Home" Season 2.

“Sweet Home” is without a doubt one of the most popular Korean dramas on Netflix to date. Fans are excited to watch “Sweet Home” Season 2 on the American streaming site, even if it is not as groundbreaking as “Squid Game.”

Based on Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan's popular webcomic of the same name, the drama follows the story of Cha Hyun-soo (played by Song Kang), a disturbed high school student, and the other residents of Green Home, which is besieged by monsters out to wipe out civilization.

They fight these vicious beasts together in an attempt to save their lives. While fans wait for further information on the upcoming installment, here is everything we know about “Sweet Home” Season 2.

Sweet Home’ Season 2 Release Date

Netflix officially confirmed “Sweet Home” Season 2 2 will launch on December 1, 2023, at the end of October 2023, per EpicFlix. The first trailer of the forthcoming new installment confirmed the release date.

“Sweet Home” Season 2 will launch in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to Netflix. This suggests that the new episode was supposed to be released between October and the end of the year. The release comes three years after Netflix released the first season. Hopefully, the third season will arrive sooner rather than later.

Sweet Home’ Season 2 Cast

In the imminent “Sweet Home” Season 2, “Nevertheless” actor Song Kang is set to resume his role as Cha Hyun Soo, a suicidal high school student who moves into 1410 in Green Home after his family is murdered in a car accident. Lee Jin Wook also returns as Pyeon Sang Wook, a strange man with a scar on his face.

Lee Si Young as Seo Yi Kyung, a former firefighter whose fiance disappeared two days before their wedding; Go Min Si as Lee Eun Yoo, Eun Hyuk's younger sister and a former ballerina who was forced to quit due to a foot injury; and Park Gyu Young as Yoon Ji Soo, a bass guitarist who moves into 1510 in Green Home after her boyfriend's suicide, are all returning for “Sweet Home” Season 2.

Yoo Oh Sung, who starred in “Tomb of the River,” is also expected to play Sergeant Tak In Hwan, who leads the Special Forces Guard designed to protect residents from monsters, in the new installment. Oh Jung Se, who starred in It's Okay to Be Different, is believed to play Doctor Im, a vaccine researcher, in “Sweet Home” Season 2.

Kim Moo Yeol of “Juvenile Justice” will play Kim Young Hoo, a former UDT sergeant who is now the Special Forces Guard's second-in-command, while Jung Jin Young of “Police University” will play Private Park Chan Young of the Special Forces Guard in the highly-anticipated “Sweet Home” Season 2.

Sweet Home’ Season 2 Spoilers

Lee Eung-bok, the series' director, recently stated that he hopes to stay true to the original webcomic, per Soompi. Despite Lee's best efforts, the first season veered greatly from the source material by creating new characters and changing the plot. This is not unthinkable for “Sweet Home” Season 2.

Also, “Sweet Home” Season 2 was described by director Lee Eung-bok in an official press release as "a full-fledged apocalyptic drama." Read the "Sweet Home" Season 2 synopsis below:

“Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, Lee Si-young, Ko Min-si, and Park Gyu-young — the residents of Green Home who, in the previous season, delivered overwhelming tension as they risked their lives through bloody battles against their neighbors-turned-monsters — return again in season 2 to offer thrills and tension of a whole new different kind. Joining the cast in the new season are actors Yoo Oh-seon, Oh Jung-se, Kim Mu-yeol, and Jin-young, portraying the various dimensions of human nature and desires as they find themselves at a crossroads for survival. Having opened new horizons for K-content with its diverse creatures designed and built with a global dream team, Sweet Home Season 2 is ready to mesmerize audiences around the world once again with its expanded world and story.”
