The only daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise, has officially become a teenager over a month ago. But was this milestone enough for her father to finally reunite with the 13-year-old girl?
Since Katie and Tom finalized their divorce in 2012, Suri has been living with her mother in New York. All parties involved have been mum about the legal agreement that the exes have in place in terms of their daughter’s custody. But since Suri was never seen with her father, fans are assuming the actress won full custody of the young girl.
Meanwhile, the gossip industry has also made Suri and Tom’s relationship with a favorite subject in many stories. One of the most recent claims about their supposed reunion was published in March. Tabloid New Idea claimed that Suri and Katie had a falling out, resulting in the daughter packing her bags and running away to live with her father in Florida.
However, the said report was already debunked. The photo used in it, where Suri is pulling a suitcase, was actually taken from the day she was traveling with Katie to visit a refugee camp in Greece. It was documented well in Katie’s official Instagram page.
As for Suri’s 13th birthday celebrations, it does not seem like anything changed with regards to her relationship with Tom. There were no signs that her father appeared to celebrate with her, but Katie was there, as always, to be with Suri on her special day. Daily Mail reported that the mother and daughter duo were joined by a couple of Suri’s friends for a modest birthday dinner at the Delicatessen restaurant in NYC.
A source told Us Weekly last October that, while Katie has primary custody rights over Suri, Tom is still legally allowed to see his daughter for 10 days every month. However, the same insider said it had been the actor’s choice not to see Suri.
