It’s barely three months into 2019 and the rumor mill has already published two unsubstantiated narratives about Suri Cruise. This is despite the efforts of Katie Holmes trying to protect her daughter from unreliable tabloids. The first rumor sprouted in January where Woman’s Day Australia (via Gossip) claims that the 12-year-old is heartbroken due to her mom breaking up with Jamie Foxx.
The story was quickly debunked given that the secretive couple was still together after the piece was published. In fact, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx were seen vacationing together in Miami a few weeks before the outlet wrote the article.
There’s also the fact that Woman’s Day Australia is not a reliable publication to begin with. This is the same outlet that wrote a story in August claiming that Suri Cruise hates Jamie Foxx. In that article, the outlet claims that the reason why the young teen is angry at Foxx is due to his womanizing ways.
If Suri Cruise is upset at Foxx, then she wouldn’t be heartbroken at the possibility of her mom leaving the actor. The second rumor came from NW claiming that Tom Cruise’s daughter will be starting her Hollywood career.
In the piece, the outlet said that Suri Cruise will be starring in the “Dawson Creek” reboot along with Katie Holmes. After the rumor spread out, a spokesperson of Holmes debunked the claim and said that the story was downright absurd. It also doesn’t help the tabloid’s premise that Holmes herself said that rebooting the drama will not work in this era due to the proliferation of social media and the internet as a whole.
NW is also another unreliable publication that has a history of spinning unsubstantiated stories involving Suri Cruise. In October, the outlet claimed that the young girl is missing her estranged father, Tom Cruise. Months later, nothing ever came from this narrative proving yet again NW’s untrustworthy reputation.
