‘Stranger Things’ season 2 adds comedian Brett Gelman to the ever-expanding roster of actors. He is set to play a journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist investigating a case in Hawkins.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gelman is set to play a conspiracy theorist in the incoming second season of the popular Netflix web television series ‘Stranger Things.’ His character, Murray Bauman, is a disgraced journalist who becomes a conspiracy theorist investigating a cold case in the town of Hawkins.
Gelman is best known for his work on the Adult-Swim comedy-action series ‘Eagleheart’, NBC’s sitcom ‘Go On’, FX’s comedy series ‘Married’, as well as Comedy Central’s series ‘Another Period.’ He currently stars on BBC Three’s comedy series ‘Fleabag’ as Martin. He is the latest actor to join the cast in addition to Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, and Linnea Berthelsen in the new cast, according to /Film.
Stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine will be returning to the series while Joe Keery and Noah Schnapp have been promoted to series regulars as well.
Executive producer Shawn Levy revealed in a previous interview, "There's definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost… Like the show itself, it's multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones."
According to The Mirror, season 2 is yet to reveal an official air date but is expected to return to Netflix before July 2017. The incoming season will continue where season 1 left off. Co-creator Matt Duffer previously teased, "Season 1 actually takes place over the course of six or seven days - it's a really short period of time… So part of what we want to do with hypothetical (yeah right) Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened."
‘Stranger Things’ season 2 is expected to debut on Netflix sometime in 2017. The science-fiction and horror web television series was created and executive produced by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer.
