Many fans have questioned Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren's parentage and in the movie it was discovered that Kylo Ren was the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa! Ren, originally Ben Solo, was trained as a Jedi by Luke Skywalker until he got into the Dark Side and started slaughtering any remaining Jedi in the galaxy.
Talking about Luke Skywalker, he abruptly vanishes in the movie due to self-doubt caused by the turning of Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) against them, which he believes is his fault. Luke is in search of a Jedi temple to train, leaving clues to anyone who might need him should any crisis arrive.
