Spotify is introducing a new feature that its users will like. This is being launched after achieving success with its AI DJ function, which was unveiled in February of last year.
As per Tech Crunch, Spotify is adding a new innovative feature that allows users to convert their ideas into personalized playlists. The music streaming provider brings in artificial intelligence (AI) again so subscribers can create customized playlists through its new “AI Playlist.”
Creation of Personalized Playlists
Spotify launched its personalized playlist feature, which is still in beta. This new option, called AI Playlist, is now available for premium subscribers.
Through this feature, users can easily generate their own selection of tracks and content based on written prompts. The Swedish company said these prompts can recommend all kinds of things to users, including activities, places, film characters, animals, and even colors or emojis.
Spotify further noted that the best playlists are created using prompts that have a mixture of artists, genres, and moods. Initially, the company will offer the new service to users in the United Kingdom and Australia. It will work on both Android and iOS devices in these regions.
Functionality Enhanced by the Use of AI
The new AI Playlist offers more than just the regular request for playlist creation. It was mentioned that artificial intelligence makes it possible for users to request unusual custom playlists such as “songs to serenade my cat.” People can also modify and refine the playlist by issuing command prompts like “more pop” or “less upbeat.”
“Spotify will help you curate a personalized playlist based on the tracks, artists, and genres we think you will like,” the company said in a press release. “While it is designed to be fun, the tool is still in beta and won’t produce results for non-music-related prompts, like current events or specific brands.”
The digital music service provider added, “With AI Playlist in beta, we’re excited to give Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia a brand-new way to discover music. Over the coming months, we look forward to continuing to iterate on this new feature to best serve our listeners.”
