Southeast Asian travel firm Smiling Albino accepts bitcoin payments directly from clients

Bangkok-based luxury travel agency, Smiling Albino, announced that it will be one among the first travel planning companies in Southeast Asia to accept payments directly from their clients using bitcoin.

The company announcement stated that the addition of bitcoin payments fits in nicely with their goals of constantly looking to improve their client's’ experience and utilizing innovative ideas. The Destination Management Company has been operating customized, private itineraries in Southeast Asia for more than 15 years. Its teams are surveying and discovering new adventures and experiences for their clients, constantly.

“Our core clients are leaders in their fields and innovators. By adapting early to cryptocurrency we hope to facilitate, for some of our clients, easy payments for on-the-fly bookings or add-ons during their trips. Staying ahead in financial transactions is just one of the many ways we show we’re leading the way in luxury travel,” Stephanie Rowe, Smiling Albino’s Director of Business Development, stated.

The addition of bitcoin payments will ease Smiling Albino’s clients that are booking trips from the other side of the world. With the increasing awareness and price rise of bitcoin, the digital currency payments would quicken the transaction time and lessen transfer fees.

The company stated that bitcoin payments will be accepted directly from their clients for all Smiling Albino trips to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, effective from August 1, 2017.
