Sony joins the list of tech companies hosting a launch event this month. While the company was clear that the announcement will focus on its Xperia brand, tech fans do not have a clue on what device will be unveiled.
The Japanese tech company already held a launch event earlier this year where its new flagship phones Sony Xperia 1 III, Sony Xperia 5 III, and Sony Xperia 10 III were unveiled. Not many people thought that Sony had another Xperia-branded announcement to make, but that does not seem to be the case.
Sony confirmed through a Twitter post earlier this week that it has one more Sony Xperia event slated this year. The company asked its social media followers to follow the official Sony Xperia channel on YouTube where they can watch the presentation on Monday, Oct. 25, at 11 p.m. ET, which will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 12 p.m. JST in Japan. Since the event schedules provided cater to the US and Japanese markets, the upcoming product may be released in these regions as well.

Aside from the event’s date and time, the company did not provide other details about the product it will unveil. An event poster has been shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, but it does not contain additional information. The company, however, made it clear that there is a new product to be announced later this month. The same poster only shows a close-up image of a camera lens, which has led to speculations that the mystery product could be a photography-focused smartphone.
The rumor mill, surprisingly, does not have a solid clue on the upcoming product as well. One of the few leaks online suggests that the company could unveil a Pro version of the Sony Xperia 1 III. The company is reportedly working on a high-end model of the flagship phone powered by Snapdragon 888+ and has 16GB RAM. But the same source does not expect any design tweaks from the existing Sony Xperia 1 III.
If the report tallies, it makes sense for Sony to host another launch event for a more powerful version of the Sony Xperia 1 III as its regular version is already a competent device. The Xperia 1 III, which entered the market last August, shipped with Snapdragon 888, 256GB / 512GB storage, 12GB RAM, 120Hz OLED screen, and a 4500mAh battery.
