SHREVEPORT, La., July 24, 2017 -- Patients and Shreveport residents can join the staff at Silverblatt Eye Clinic at their solar eclipse celebration and check out the Krewe Eyewear line-up of exclusive and up-and-coming eyewear at its optical boutique, Styleyes. Vision patients are invited to stop by for the special solar eclipse viewing event at 11:00 AM CDT on August 21st. Glasses are provided to safely observe the eclipse of the sun. Refreshments will be served. In addition, the Krewe Eyewear Trunk Show will be held on the same day, making it convenient to check out the latest brands of eyewear at this Shreveport eye clinic.
The Styleyes Eyewear Boutique will also host its Krewe Eyewear Trunk Show at 11:00 AM CDT on August 21st. Stirling Barrett offers his vision of the culture of New Orleans with its celebration of individual style as captured in Krewe eyewear. All pairs of glasses come with a lifetime warranty and mirrored, polarized, rounded and rose gold options are available. A recent eye exam from their eye doctor in Shreveport and prescription may be necessary to take advantage of brand name eyewear.
Individuals participating in the Solar Eclipse celebration at Silverblatt Eye Clinic and Styleyes get to see the sun’s corona as day turns into night. Free viewing glasses will be provided at the celebration. These glasses have special-purpose solar filters that are specially manufactured for safe viewing. Those viewing the solar eclipse should not use ordinary glasses or homemade filters as these will not sufficiently protect the eye during the experience. Watching a solar eclipse through any other device that is not made for such a purpose can cause serious injury to eyes. Those in a path of totality can remove the filter when the sun is completely covered and it gets dark. When this period is over, put the solar viewer back on. Viewers in Louisiana will witness a partial solar eclipse, so they must wear protective solar eclipse glasses for the entirety of the event.
“The solar eclipse celebration will be a wonderful way to share a unique experience with neighbors and the staff at Silverblatt Eye Clinic and Styleyes,” said Sam R. Silverblatt, O.D., Shreveport optometrist. “Come down and enjoy our trunk show and take part in the celebration.”
