“Shadowhunters” season 3 will feature the return of the villain known as Jonathan Morgenstern or Sebastian Verlac, however, it was revealed that he will be coming back in his real form, the real person he is and not assume someone else’s identity. Luke Baines will play the character and teaser photos show what he will look like when the final season airs.
It can be recalled that Jace previously presented himself with another identity so he can slip into the Shadowhunters' New York Institute and easily blend in with the rest. He introduced himself as Sebastian Verlac (Will Tudor), an identity he got after kidnapping the real person who is an English Shadowhunter.
TV Line reported that the fantasy drama’s showrunners had already confirmed about Jonathan Morgenstern's comeback a few months ago. In May, Todd Slavkin told the publication,
"We’re totally excited about Jonathan’s return. It’s the real Jonathan with the real DNA he was born with. It’s not going back to 2B and seeing that dynamic."
The show will return with “Shadowhunters’ season 3 episode 11 and it will reveal Clary's (Katherine McNamara) fate after she was caught in a big explosion after the battle with Lilith who revived Jonathan Morgenstern. As mentioned earlier, this is when Luke Baines will appear. He will now assume the role of the villain in “Lost Souls.”
Meanwhile, after “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 11 is released, only nine episodes are left before the show concludes in its final season. Filming for the show already ended in August and as of this time, it appears that there is no possibility for the production to resume even after the protests and calls from fans to bring it back.
“Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 11 will air on Feb. 25, 2019, on Freeform.
