Seungri’s manager is also being linked to the Burning Sun Gate scandal after the authorities discovered that he has been receiving money from the club. One of the transactions revealed that the manager only called as “Mr. Ji” was paid KRW30 million or around US$27,000. However, his services or the reason for the payout was not mentioned.
Moreover, Seungri’s manager’s salary came directly from Burning Sun’s funds although he is an employee listed under YG Entertainment and not the club. Although this is the case, the police stated that the former Big Bang member paid his manager using the club’s funds, Soompi reported.
Now, because Seungri’s manager received his salary from Burning Sun and not from Seungri or YG, the suspicions of embezzlement against the former idol singer just got stronger. Also, it is becoming clear that Seungri lied about his position in the club as evidence suggest that he is involved with its management and not just a mere shareholder.
YG Entertainment’s Response
In response to the latest findings that “Mr. Ji” also received payouts from Burning Sun, YG Entertainment denied any knowledge of its former employee’s involvement in the club. The company also stated that they have no idea if Seungri’s manager also works for Yuri Holdings or not.
"As we are not involved at all with Seungri's personal businesses, we had no idea of Mr. Ji's position in Yuri Holdings or that he was receiving separate pay from business related to Seungri." Allkpop quoted YG Entertainment as saying. "We also just learned of it after it became a problem. Mr. Ji has also been processed out of the label along with the termination of Seungri's contract."
Meanwhile, Seungri’s company that he co-founded with Yoo In Suk in 2016 has been raided this week. The move is part of the investigation on the alleged embezzlement against the 29-year-old former idol. Junwon Industries was also raided since it has links to Seungri and materials were seized for examination.
