Selena Gomez Health Update: Disney Alum Out of the Rehab and Now Committed to Staying Healthy

Selena Gomez has been discharged from a mental health treatment facility and she is now committed to becoming healthier and staying that way. Her hospitalization and rehabilitation came after she had an emotional breakdown in October aside from having low white blood cell count and this is apparently related to her previous kidney transplant.

According to E! News (via Metro), Selena Gomez was discharged not long ago and she is now staying low and out of the limelight, away from the eye of the public.

“Selena is out of her treatment program in NYC and is doing much better,” the source said. “Selena is feeling refreshed and is in a better headspace.”

Radar Online reported that Selena Gomez’s emotional breakdown last month was also a result of the former “Wizards of Waverly Place” star’s depression after her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, got married to Hailey Baldwin. At that time, the actress/singer was really over the edge emotionally.

Before Selena Gomez was hospitalized, she posted a long message on social media and then deactivated her account. Part of her message reads: “As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.”

She added, “Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember — negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”

In any case, Selena Gomez checked in at a rehab after being discharged from the hospital. She underwent DBT (Dialectic Behavior Therapy) and this treatment allegedly changed the star’s life.

Lastly, although Selena Gomez is home already, she wants to continue her treatment to make sure that her mental health will remain stable. Justin Bieber’s ex does not have plans of working again as of this time.
